Fortnite winner receives $3m in prize money from e-sports

US teenager Kyle Giersdorf received $3m in prize money after he became the world champion of the computer game Fortnite. The final was participated by 100 online players who competed on a giant screen. Giersdorf who is popularly known online as Bugha is a 16-year kid. Similarly, the British runner up received 1 million pounds.

This is the largest sum received by the winner in the history of e-sports. The total of record-breaking $30m prize money was shared among the winners. The event was organized in the Arthur Ashe Stadium in New York.

Giersdorf was exhilarated when his name was announced as the winner. The crowd also cheered for his achievement. Giersdorf said that all he wanted right now was a new desk to place his trophy.
