HAN Agrees To Use Hotels As The Quarantine

The Hotel Association of Nepal has submitted a detailed report on the use of the hotel as a quarantine to the Director General of the Department of Tourism. If the hotel is to be used as a quarantine, it is divided into two types, tourist level hotels and five-star hotels. It is said that the lone infected person staying in the quarantine in a tourist level hotel has to pay Rs 3,000 per day and the infected person staying in two rooms has to pay Rs 5,000 per day. Similarly, for a five-star hotel, one has to pay Rs 10,000 a day for staying alone and Rs 16,000 a day for two.

The delegation of the association has submitted the details to the department so that the government can use the hotel as a quarantine in the process of repatriation of Nepali nationals living abroad with the objective of directly reducing the national crisis created by COVID-19. The statement also mentions the provision of quarantine for health workers and frontline coronary infection personnel.

In addition, the hotel which can be operated as a quarantine, should be updated even if it is not registered with the government regulatory body by fulfilling the criteria prescribed by the government, including the appropriate health care methods and arrangements, available infrastructure, services and facilities.

Hotel associations of Nepal includes 3,500 hotel members under 15 regional associations located in the seven provinces.
