Japan Government Announces $700 Billion Additional Economic Package

Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga on Tuesday announced an additional economic package to address the challenges posed by the coronavirus.

Addressing a meeting of the government and the ruling party, Prime Minister Suga said that the door would be opened for maintaining employment, sustaining business, reviving the economy, and developing green and digital technology.

He said the government’s economic package would be $ 707 billion. Prime Minister Suga expressed confidence that this economic package would help reduce the negative economic impact created by the Covid-19 epidemic. The cabinet meeting on Tuesday will approve the new economic package.
