Expansion Of Kaligandaki Highway Gains Momenturm

The work of expanding the Kaligandaki Highway, a road project of national pride, has started. Work on the 55-kilometer section of the mountain has gained momentum. Despite the contract being called for, the construction company was working at a slow pace.
The Highway Planning Office has started work to open 12 kilometers of track, blacktop 7 kilometers and upgrade the rest of the section within the current year. The construction company has started the work for blacktopping the section from Setiveni to Ranipani. For this, the corridor project office had approved the bids at a cost of Rs. 41 crores.
This road connects North China and South India. Upgradation work is underway on the track mainly connecting Bihadi village municipality to Phalewas municipality. Member of the House of Representatives Padam Giri said that they are preparing to invite tenders to blacktop this section as well.
