Sushmit Energy To Construct 20 MW Kunaban Khola Hydropower Project

Sushmit Energy Pvt. Ltd. is going to construct a 20 MW Kunaban Khola Hydropower Project. The company has received the construction permission of the project from the Department of Electricity Development.
The department has issued license on Chaitra 28, 2078 BS to the promoter company on the basis of the environmental impact assessment report and study report of the project approved by the Ministry of Forest and Environment. The construction license has a validity until Chaitra 27, 2013 BS.
The company is planning to develop the project in Kunaban Khola flowing through Dhaulagiri rural municipality of the Myagdi district.
The dam site of the project will be constructed about 4,300 meters above the confluence of Kunaban river and Myagdi river. The water will be conveyed to the power house through 1,780 meters long penstock pipe through 2,780 meters long inverted D-type tunnel. Electricity will be generated through two generators connected to the Pelton turbines connected to the power house.
The company aims to complete the construction work of the project by Falgun 2082. The estimated cost of the project is Rs 4.18 billion. The project will generate 115.515 gigawatt hours of electricity annually.
The generated electricity will be connected to the proposed Dandakhet substation of Nepal Electricity Authority through 132 kV transmission line of Myagdi Khola Hydropower Project located at a distance of 8.5 km.
