People’s Hydropower To Construct 57 MW Himchuli Dordi Hydropower Project

People’s Hydropower Company Limited will develop a 57 MW Himchuli Dordi Hydropower Project. The company has received the construction license for the project. The Department of Electricity Development (DOED) has issued the license for the project on Baisakh 28, 2079 BS. The construction license is valid until Baisakh 27, 2114 BS.

People’s Hydropower Company is currently constructing a 54 MW Super Dordi ‘B’ hydropower project at Dordikhola in Lamjung. Based on the river flow, the 57 MW project falls above the dam site of Super Dordi ‘B’ Project.

Water will be sent to the tunnel from the intake on the left side of the river by constructing a 23 meter long and 4 meter high dam on Dordi river.

The project will generate 335 gigawatt-hours of energy annually. The generated electricity will be connected to the national transmission line through NEA’s Dordi Corridor Hub Substation in Dordi Rural Municipality, Ward No. 6, Kirtipur.

The project is targeted to be completed by 2084 BS.
