Nepal Rastra Bank Brings New Rs 1000 Notes In Circulation

Nepal Rastra Bank is going to introduce new Rs 1000 notes from today (Shrawan 7, 2077). The new note has a picture of Mount Everest on the left, a watermark of Laliguran on the right, and the signature of the then Governor Dr. Chiranjeevi Nepal.

The 1000 rupees note has a picture of two rare twin elephants known as Ram and Laxman in the same size and color as the previous image of one elephant.

There is a written inscription “the banknotes in the same size, type and color of the notes from Ja / 68000001 to Ta / 100999999 are guaranteed by the Government of Nepal. If anyone asks for the payment, Rs. 1000 will be immediately available from NRB.”
