The ‘Pathshala CUG Service’ distributed by Nepal Telecom can be used by public school employees, parents and school board members at a discounted rate. The service, which was earlier used for school teachers and students, will also be available to parents and school board members.

Previously, Nepal Telecom had distributed ‘Pathshala CUG service’ at a concessional rate to the public school teachers and students of class 1 to 12 across the country so that they would not be deprived of education in the event of an epidemic.

Under the service, a client has to pay Rs 99 per month (excluding government tax and ownership tax) to be affiliated with a public school and join the company’s institutional user group.

It will also provide unlimited voice service within the closed group. Earlier, 8 GB of data was available to use educational materials on the website of the Center for Education and Human Resource Development, but this has been increased to 8 GB. The facility of sending bulk SMS within this group without any additional fee is still there. In addition, one GB of data for any purpose at any time and the facility to send 100 SMS within the group has been added.

Telecom’s GSM or CDMA prepaid mobile number is required to join the ‘Pathshala CUG SIM’ scheme. The prepaid SIM card already in use can be added to the plan and those who do not have a prepaid SIM card can get a new prepaid SIM card free of cost.
