Anil Kumar Upadhyay, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Agricultural Development Bank has been elected as the Vice President of Nepal Bankers Association (NBA). He was elected unopposed for the post of vice-president and will lead the Association in the near future.

The legislature to be tabled at the 34th annual general meeting of the association on Tuesday has envisioned a single vice-president, despite the fact that more than one person is vying for the post. Until three years ago, the association had a system of two vice-presidents. The association has made an arrangement for the vice-president to be elected unanimously as the president.

None of the government-owned banks have been at the top level of the association for about 15 years.

Anukul Bhatnagar, Chief Executive Officer of Nepal SBI Bank, who was elected Vice President last year, returned to India. After Bhatnagar left for India, the post of Vice President was vacant.
