Himalayan Power Partner Limited (HPPL) is developing the project and has started the trial electricity generation from Sunday. With this, 27 MW of electricity will be added to the national transmission line from the project.

A power house is constructed on the bank of Marshyangdi River near Ramchowk Basin of Chiti, Besisahar Municipality-11. The generated electricity will be connected to the 132 KV substation under construction at Udipur.

The project, which started construction in Falgun, 2072 BS, had set a target of generating electricity on Bhadra 15, 2075 BS. However, there was delay in construction due to blockade, damage to machinery by the infiltration of water from the Marsyangdi River in the rainy season and COVID-19 turmoil.

The project will generate 147.69 gigawatts of electricity.

The project had initial estimation cost of Rs 3.86 billion. However, the cost is likely to increase to Rs 4.64 billion after the completion of the project.
