The construction work of 22.1 MW Upper Chaku ‘A’ Hydropower Project constructed in Bhotekoshi Village Municipality-4 and 5 of Sindhupalchowk has been completed. The electricity generated from the project will be connected to the national transmission line on Tuesday and commercial production will start in a week. The project constructed by Shivshree Hydropower Limited with an investment of Rs. 220 million per megawatt has generated an average of 3.5 to 4 megawatts of electricity daily due to low flow of the river.
The head of the project is 815 meters. The tunnel of the project is 3,300 meters long. It has been connected to the national transmission line at Lamosadh through a 22-kilometer transmission line from the project site by constructing a 30-kilometer access road from Chaming Bazaar in Marming.
