ASBA stands for Application Supported by Blocked Amount. It is a process for applying to public/rights issues by blocking the application money in the bank account.
C-ASBA ensures centralized posting and verification of bank account numbers and DMAT account numbers. It eases monitoring of double application for issue managers and share registrars, cancellation of application upon double applications, and prepare a final report for securities allocation. Mero Share application is the online system developed by CDSC through which the shareholders can apply applications for IPO/FPO/Rights issues once they are registered through C-ASBA.

However, the bank states the asba charge is free in its website
yeah its taking 25rs for asba charge.. but here it was saying free what to do?????

But civil bank is deducting rs. 10 for CASBA.

There are now Almost 15 lakh D-mat Account Holders, who Apply Continuously for IPO. if we calculate each paying an average of rupees 10, Banks are generating 15 corers revenue for every IPO Announcement.
There is around 2-3 IPO Issued Every month. That means, we are paying almost 30-40 corers every month.
Banks are generating revenue without any hard work.
so, c-asba charges should be free. no bank should charge for it.
